Spring tension / wide pressure distribution mounting of 33-layer laminated birch toeboards. Toeboards are internally marinated with high penetration finishes inside all mounting holes and rack holes. They are further stabilized with 40 coat penetrating finishes, combined with spin burnished high stability resin glazings inside all toe holes and toe seats. Similar detailing is applied to all 11 layer birch racboards with redundant rack-pin positionaing.

Two layer 6/4 solid oak wind chest housings utilize double reinforced finger-jointed corners; sealed internally with elastimeric co-polymer and externally with a 20 coat equilizing influx control sealant. All rack end supports are tripple layer laminated; sealed with 40 coat high penetration sealants and are mounted with internal spring tension fasteners to keep rack positioning tight in all seasons of the year.

Structural supporting framework is constructed of counter-stress laminated white oak with dual stability balanced hickory clading at the top and bottom of each beam to control and graphically reduce linear expansion and contraction.

A view of another "redundant strength" structural framework of solid white oak and hickory, which gives the Aadland organ a structural foundation that is several times stronger than the "softwood board and plank" type structrures and still provides superior structural conductivity of bass note resonance to the floor of the organ chamber.

The motivation to devote 32 years and more than 37,000 hours to develop advanced quality and stability in the Aadland Pipe Organ has been threefold:

To make the ownership of a pipe organ more cost effective for the church by improving performance reliability and reducing maintenance costs. With the incorporation of comprehensive stability design features, Aadland pipe organs save congregations up to 60% in tuning costs and up to 90% in long term repair costs. Advanced detailing with respect to wind way pressure consistency (inside organ pipes), also yields voicing attributes which are more stable during radical changes in indoor relative humidity.
To graphically reduce long term repair costs by making all components accessible without moving or relocating delicate surrounding components.
To make the advanced resources of programmable combination reed stop production in orchestral pipe organs a viable and important means of expanding the tonal resources of pipe organs rather then resorting to the use of electronic voices (combination reed stops may utilize up to 10 harmonic components, but these are achieved exclusively by activation of pure tuned mutation ranks of pipes and the already available foundation organ pipes).

THE “ELEGANCE OF QUALITY” BOOKLET

The “Elegance of Quality” booklet, which is available for $75.00 in printed form, is a 60 page treatise containing 30 pages of full color photos and 30 pages of explanatory script. The booklet is about the Aadland development of advanced quality in pipe organs over the past 35 years.

If you choose to order one, please allow up to two months for delivery, due to periodic updating. You do not have to send your check until your booklet is available, but we must receive your payment prior to sending the booklet.

The booklet addresses more than 200 advanced stability features that are designed into all of our new pipe organs. It also elucidates reasons why changes in climate and temperature management (in churches) in recent decades have required improved levels of stability in pipe organs.

The booklet is spiral bound in an attractive and durable (soil and fingerprint resistant) vinyl display cover.
